Hi everyone !
Here is the rough summary of the ZOOM meeting held on May 17 based just on my messy notes written on the day. I apologize for the delay.
At the beginning of the meeting, the attendees shared an update of each member’s news and interests. Of them, SM Takahata and SM Eda exchanged similar hobbies of gardening such as growing flowers like roses and morning glories with each other. SM K. Narisawa raised some idioms such as “That's as clear as day” meaning that something is very easy to understand, “toll on one’s health”---"Anger can take a toll on your health.” “Working late hours everyday will take its toll on him”
Table Topics Speech
“If you could take a single photo of yourself, what would be? “ (SM Eda)
Based on the speaker’s memories about his high school days, he talked about his baseball club activities. From this, he said that one of photos taken would be a memento of these happy memories.
“Dogs are better than cats” (SM Koizumi)
The speaker talked about his family’s pet dog, saying that the pet is very loyal to them. SM. K. Narisaws raised the phrases of “she dog” and “he dog” when referring to our pet dogs.
“What is the hardest thing to cook?” (SM Kaneko)
The speaker discussed meat and potatoes based on his experiences of cooking on a daily basis. In his speech, he elaborated on how hard it is to cook things depending on the types of meat, say pork and beef as ingredients.

Throughout the speaker’s speech, he insistently talked about episodes of how he feels his town’s people are greedy.

Based on the speaker’s experiences when she was in her high school days, she talked about the team sport of volleyball. And then her speech moved on to basketball, the team sport she is most involved with now. In her speech, she put an emphasis on possible benefits of building sound personality by doing team sports. In connection with the issue, SM Takahata, who was an athlete in her high school days, said that the speech resonated with her based on her clear recollections.
“Please tell us about inspiring things moved you recently.” (SM SM Takahata)
The speaker talked about her house’s bathroom, which was renovated for the first time in 25 years. She emphasized how she was satisfied with the operators’ work, and the room became surprisingly shiny.
