こんにちは。Yamazakiです。12月24日のSMCを報告します。 K. Narisawaさん、Y. Narisawaさん、Hirabayashiさん、Kanekoさん、Yamazakiの5名の参加でした。ConductorはYamazaki、LecturerはY. Narisawaさんでした。

◆ Lecture

“Quiz”

前置詞、名詞を含むイディオムの穴埋め問題でした。

- My mother doesn’t approve of the people I hang (out/around) with.

（to loiter some place; to be in a place or in an area, doing nothing in particular）

- Mr. A’s story doesn’t hold (water).

(Stand up to critical examination, be sound and valid)

- When do you feel happy? - What do you want to keep as a pet? - If you had much time where would you like to go to?

◆ Prepared Speech

・ “Social problem about waste” (Hirabayashiさん)

ごみ問題の基礎を勉強しました。 In a small country, like Japan, there is no longer much room left burying garbage. Each of us is making more than 1 kg of garbage a day.

・“Speed” (K. Narisawaさん)

クルマの運転、歩行、食べること、運動選手の動きなど、あらゆることにつきまとう“スピード”ですが、英語をマスターするのには、“スピード”を意識していこうというメッセージでした。

- We are trying to achieve the same goal within a limited time. That’s why it is very hard but at the same time interesting to study English. - walk leisurely (done without hurrying)

・ “Speech” (Kanekoさん)

原稿なしでのスピーチでしたが、ユーモアをまじえた余裕を感じさせるものでした。

◆ Presidential Remarks

楽しみつつ、スピードを意識して勉強していこうとのお話しがありました。次回1月14日(土)はConductorはHirabayashiさん, LecturerはKanekoさんの予定です。
